Korea is predicted to place 6th, with 7 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, according to sports data specialists Gracenote on Wednesday.

Gracenote’s forecast is based on the analysis of players stats from previous Olympics and other world-class events with higher credits placed on recent events, meaning the forecast may see minor changes before the Pyeongchang Olympics start in February.

In a previous analysis in May, Gracenote forecast that Korea would garner 7 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals.

As the host, Korea is aiming for their best winter Olympic games ever, hoping to place 4th overall with 8 gold, 4 silver and 8 bronze medals.

Korea’s best finish so far was 5th place at the Vancouver Olympics in 2010, with 6 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals. Most recently at the Sochi Olympics in 2014, it ended with a disappointing 13th place with 3 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals.

The analysts expect Germany to top the medal table, with Norway and the U.S. closely competing for 2nd place. Former champion Russia, on the other hand, is forecast to fall to 8th.

Meanwhile, The uniforms for the athletes representing Korea at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang were unveiled on Tuesday at the National Training Center in Seoul.

Some athletes, including speed skater Lee Seung-hoon and short track speed skater Choi Min-jeong, were on stage as models.

Koreans medalists in Peyongchang will step onto the podium in an outfit with the lyrics of the national anthem printed in small letters in the lining, bearing a Korean flag embroidered on the left chest, and red and blue lines from the flag running diagonally next to it. On the left arm it will say “Team Korea.” The trousers are black, another color from the flag.

The uniform for the opening and the closing ceremonies is a thick goose down jacket as the ceremonies will take place in an open stadium.

They are sponsored by North Face.
