Hyundai’s luxury Genesis brand unveiled a sports sedan in Seoul on Friday. The G70, which Genesis hopes will rival premium European cars, will hit showrooms on Sept. 15.
The carmaker said that the G70’s exterior highlights the vehicle’s dynamic qualities, while the interior boasts sophisticated features and elegance. “It is equipped with a range of cutting-edge technologies to enhance safety and the driving experience. Among these are nine airbags,” it said.
“We believe the G70 has enough of a competitive edge to compete with market leaders like the Mercedes-Benz C class, BMW 3 Series and Audi’s A4,” said Hwang Chung-yul, a vice president at Hyundai. “We will continue to expand the Genesis lineup with eco-friendly models and SUVs.”
The price of the G70 ranges from W37.5 million to W52.3 million (US$1=W1,123).
